Less than three in every 10 businesses have taken steps to mitigate any potential impact of tariffs, as most are confident US president Donald Trump will strike a deal with the EU.

Research carried out by accountancy group ACCA, conducted immediately prior to Mr Trump’s 90-day tariff pause, found that only 15% of businesses had undertaken a risk analysis, while 7% had started to look at new markets as a result of the potential tariffs.
