Pub spending surged in Ireland jumped 160% on the Sunday of St Patrick's weekend, while overall spending is up 10% across all sectors, figures analysing March spending reveal.

The St Patrick’s Day festivities led to busiest day of the year so far for pubs, with spending on Sunday, March 16th - the day before St Patrick’s Day, according to the AIB Spend Trend for March 2025. AIB customers spend €5.4m in pubs that day, the bank said, up 160% compared to the average day in March.
