Hotel room occupancy levels fell in December

Room rates across the country ranged from €127.23 to €241.28 in December with Wicklow recording the highest rate for the second month in a row.

Hotels in Ireland saw room occupancy levels drop to 59.7% in December, their second-lowest level in 2024.

The rate represents a 1.3% fall compared to December 2023. However, bedspace occupancy declined at an even greater rate, indicating a shift in guest mix to a more business-oriented traveller.
