Irish unemployment ticked up marginally in December, rising to 4.2%, up slightly from 4.1% in the previous month.

New figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) on Wednesday show unemployment continues to fall on an annual basis, with last month's figure down from the 4.5% unemployment rate recorded in December 2023.
