The group is also calling for increased business supports, noting the rising costs for firms which have continued since Brexit.

Housing, infrastructure and regional development are some of the key issues facing the mid-west region, with calls for the next government to address significant capital and social infrastructural gaps in the area.

Releasing its General Election Manifesto on Wednesday, Limerick Chamber highlighted five key areas which are critical to a bright future for the region: Business vitality enablers, energy independence, balanced regional development, infrastructure and housing.
