The percentage of business customers in electricity arrears in April was 17%, the same percentage as March 2024 and also a record peak with the same month

The number of Irish businesses that had their electricity switched off due to payment arrears has almost doubled, figures from the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) have found. 

Latest figures from the regulator show that 60 businesses had their electricity turned off in April this year, up from just 34 in the previous month.
