"We have seen a lot of producers stepping up the supply of oil based on high prices seen in September. That incentive is not there as strongly anymore," Blake Boland, Head of Communications for AA Ireland said. 

Petrol and diesel prices fell for a fourth month in January, marking the longest consecutive decrease since 2017. 

New figures from the AA show pump prices fell by 4% in the month, with prices now 17% cheaper than they were in September.
