Wholesale gas spikes higher on LNG supply concerns

A liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker. US LNG has been critical in helping Europe meet its gas needs.

European wholesale gas prices surged after a drop in flows to the biggest US liquefaction terminal, underscoring the market’s continued sensitivity to supply risks. Prices rose 3.5%. 

Flows to the Sabine Pass LNG plant in Louisiana dropped about 18% from a day earlier, and Cheniere Energy, the plant's operator, declined to comment.
