Tourism chiefs: 'Too many mixed messages' around Ireland's safety as a travel destination
A meaningful resumption of air travel through Irish airports should be the Government's "number-one economic priority", according to the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation.
Tourism chiefs have urged the Government to āchange the narrativeā around Irelandās safety as a travel destination in order to give the industry some hope of generating any meaningful income in 2021.
Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) chief executive Eoghan OāMara Walsh said there are too many āmixed messagesā at the moment. The Government is still advising against in-bound air travel while the country has a positive rating on the EU traffic light system and testing is in place in the main airports.
