Financial data giant Bloomberg has doubled the headcount at its Dublin office to 190, with plans to double it again over the next three years.
The New York firm is carrying out a significant expansion of its software engineering and data operations in Ireland, expanding into new dedicated office space. The recent growth, supported by IDA Ireland, makes Dublin Bloomberg's largest EU office.
Amanda Brady, who joins as director for Ireland, and Richard Norton, who joins as head of engineering for Ireland, from Bloomberg’s New York headquarters, will lead the next phase of the company's growth in Dublin.
The company opened its new office at One Charlemont Square in late 2025, consolidating two previous sites into a single purpose-built hub that is Bloomberg's largest in the EU.
The office was officially opened by Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg and Bloomberg Philanthropies, and Pascal Donohoe, the then-minister for finance.
Bloomberg’s Dublin teams are central to the company's Enterprise Data business, building products such as DL+ that deliver multi-asset data and analytics to financial institutions worldwide.
Speaking ahead of the announcement, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said: "I greatly welcome today’s announcement by Bloomberg to expand their Irish operations, evidence of the strong economic offering Ireland has in technology, data, and STEM and the thriving business community that we cultivate in these sectors."
"Our teams here are building critical products that financial professionals around the world rely on every day," said Amanda Brady. "We’re seeing an increasing demand for the services and the innovative solutions we provide.
"Ireland's depth of home-grown engineering and STEM talent has made Dublin a natural home for our operations, and I'm really excited about our long-term plans for Dublin and beyond."
Richard Norton said: "Relocating to Dublin to lead our engineering team was an easy decision. The engineering and technology talent in Ireland is exceptional, and the work being done here sits at the core of Bloomberg's data and technology offering.
"We are investing significantly in teams here because the problems we are solving in Dublin make a material difference to our clients globally."
“Bloomberg’s decision to further expand its Irish operations is a strong endorsement of Ireland’s position as a leading location for global technology, data and financial services companies," said Michael Lohan, CEO, IDA Ireland.
"This investment will strengthen Bloomberg’s engineering, product development, and enterprise data capabilities from Dublin, creating highly skilled roles and building on Ireland’s deep pool of STEM and technology talent.
"IDA Ireland is proud to support Bloomberg’s continued growth here, and we look forward to working with their team as they deliver innovative solutions for clients across global financial markets from Ireland.”
The expansion reflects Bloomberg's continued investment in Ireland as a strategic centre for engineering, product development, and data capabilities, supporting technologies and services used by clients across global financial markets.
