The Flynn Cush group is planning a new addition to its The Salty Dog restaurant in Ballycotton, with plans for a new rooftop terrace at the venue.
The Salty Dog pub and restaurant opened in Ballycotton in June 2025 in East Cork.
The success of the casual seafood dining concept has since seen owners the FlynnCush group expand the brand, with the Salty Dog Cork opening on MacCurtain Street in the city last month, on the site which was previously occupied by Tara's Team Rooms.
The restaurant brand will continue its nationwide expansion with a Salty Dog Galway planned for Eyre Square, with further outlets planned for Dublin Airport and for Dublin city.
Now owners the Flynn Cush group are planning to extend the original Salty Dog in Ballycotton. They have applied for planning for a rooftop dining terrace over a section of the existing premises. The plans have been lodged with Cork Co Council.

The Flynn Cush hospitality group other brands include the award-winning Cush restaurant in Midleton, Ballycotton Sea Adventures, and Sea Church Ballycotton, the former church which has been transformed into a spectacular venue for live music and events. The managing shareholder of Flynn Cush group is finance and technology entrepreneur and businessman Pearse Flynn.
Mr Flynn hails from Ballycotton and has invested heavily in businesses in the area, where he has a home.
