Imagine's latest offer locks broadband at €48.99 a month for five years

Company says Irish broadband market has a 'trust problem' on prices

Communications provider Imagine has announced its new five-years broadband plan locked at €48.99 a month, with customers guaranteed that price for five years from sign-up. 

The company launched its Fibre Max 1Gb broadband plan on Tuesday, at €48.99 a month. This is a reduction on its previous five-year price freeze plan launched in 2025, which saw plans starting at €55 per month for 500MB broadband fixed for five years.

Imagine says that customers have freedom to leave at any time.

"The broadband market has a trust problem. We hear the same frustration from customers again and again. They don't trust that the price they sign up for is the price they'll actually pay. They've been burned by a bill that jumped without warning, or a fee that only showed up after they'd already committed, and it's left a lot of people feeling like they can't take a broadband ad at face value anymore," said Imagine director of sales and marketing Catherine Durkin.

"That distrust is the real problem in this market, more than any one price or plan. Imagine Broadband Better is our answer to it."

Armenian firm Team took a majority stake in the broadband provider Imagine in December 2024. The Team Group of Companies founded by Armenian entrepreneurs Hayk and Alexander Yesayan operate Telecom Armenia which has 1.1 million customers. Imagine is its first investment in an EU country.

Imagine has made a number of strategic network investments this year, including agreements with open eir and Siro to strengthen its delivery of broadband and mobile connectivity across Ireland. In May, the company migrated its network infrastucture into Viatel Technology Group's Dublin data centre.
