Payments solutions company Fexco has announced a deal with PayPal as part of a multimillion euro expansion in the US.

Fexco is headquartered in Killorglin, Co Kerry and employs over 3,600 people. The company is expanding its payUnite platform, and agreed a strategic partnership with PayPal which will enable merchants using payUnite to add PayPal payment options including Checkout, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later directly.

The link-up comes as payUnite continues a multi-million US expansion, in areas including hospitality, aviation, and retail. Fexco is also building on its leading position in the cruise sector, with a current 40% market share.

Fexco Group chief executive Neil Hosty is in Miami this week where he met and Minister of State with special responsibility for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Niamh Smyth to discuss Fexco’s US expansion, and the development of 'conversational commerce' tools and Fexco’s push into the AI agentic payments space.

“As a country with strong fintech and AI ecosystems, Ireland has a strategic opportunity to lead in a new class of economic activity – conversational commerce. It was great to meet with Minister Smyth to share an update on Fexco’s work in this space as we lead out in the development of agentic payment technology, and to launch our partnership with payUnite and PayPal," said Mr Hosty.
