Staff in Ballincollig celebrate the opening of the new Taco Bell, M&S, and Crafted in-store outlets at Applegreen in Ballincollig, Cork.

Taco Bell has officially opened in Cork with the launch of the new service outlet at Applegreen in Ballincollig.

The Cork opening on Wednesday follows the launch of Ireland's first Taco Bell at Applegreen in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath in September and at Lusk North in November.

The revamped Applegreen Classes Lake Retail Centre in Ballincollig now includes Taco Bell, an M&S Food shop-in-shop, and a Crafted Kitchen & Deli service area.

"With Taco Bell now open, M&S Food and our new Crafted Kitchen & Deli, we’re offering an incredible mix of quality, choice and convenience at our facility," said Ballincollig Applegreen store manager Lina Harney.

The upgrades, which are part of Applegreen’s €50m-plus investment plan in the Irish market this year.

The first Taco Bell, serving Mexican-style food, opened in California in 1962. It now has 8,500 restaurants in over 30 countries.

The M&S outlet will also feature a new Click & Collect service for M&S Clothing. Applegreen has 35 M&S Food shop-in-shop outlets and has plans to grow this number to more than 60 outlets in the medium term.
