The former Ballyseedy Garden Centre in Kerry, which rebranded as Fairtree Village, has been acquired by new owners and will be renamed Boyles of Ballyseedy.

The popular food and retail destination on the outskirts of Tralee was once operated by Nathan McDonnell, who was sentenced this year to 12 years in prison for drug trafficking.

The destination has continued to trade normally with a range of businesses operating, including Meadows & Byrne and the Edinburgh Woollen Mill. It has now been acquired by the Boyle family, who operates a number of home, DIY, and building supply outlets across Kerry.

“With this new name, our goal is to bring not only a refreshed identity but also consistency, stability, and sustained growth to the site,” said Adrian Boyle, who is part of the new ownership.

“We will continue to build on everything people already cherish — the friendly atmosphere, the sense of belonging, and the experiences that bring families and friends together.”

They said the team will continue to host seasonal events and support local creators.
