AerCap sold 32 aircraft assets between July and September, generating gain of sales of $332m.

Irish-headquartered aircraft leasing firm AerCap has seen its total revenues increase by 19% during the third quarter, driven by a strong return on the sale of 32 aircraft assets, the company has said.

Between July and September, the company recorded total revenue and other income of just over $2.3bn (€1.97bn) — up from just under $1.95bn last year.

AerCap chief executive Aengus Kelly said the company sold $1.5bn worth of assets during the quarter, producing a gain of sales of $332m, “our highest amount ever for a quarter”.

Its gain of sales revenue during the same period in 2024 stood at $102m.

The company recorded basic lease rents of close to $1.7bn during the quarter — compared to the $1.6bn during the same period last year.

Maintenance rents and other receipts generated another $204m. Other income for the third quarter of 2025 was $83m, up from $79m last year.

“This strong performance is indicative of the continued favourable environment for leasing and sales and of AerCap's industry-leading position,” Mr Kelly said.

“In addition, during the third quarter, we recovered another $475m related to assets lost in the Ukraine conflict, bringing total recoveries since 2023 to $2.9bn.”

AerCap said this money was “primarily related to cash insurance settlement proceeds and an interest award on the June 11, 2025, judgment from the London Commercial Court, in respect of assets lost in Russia in 2022”.

Net income for the third quarter of 2025 of $1,216m, or $6.98 per share.

The company’s selling, general and administrative expenses reached $129m over the three months — compared with $121m for the same period in 2024.

Leasing expenses were $93m, compared with $275m for the same period in 2024.

AerCap said it was raising its full-year 2025 adjusted earnings per share guidance to about $13.70.

During the first nine months of the year, AerCap’s total revenue increased by 6% to $6.27bn.

As of the end of September, the company’s portfolio consisted of 3,536 aircraft, engines and helicopters that were owned, on order or managed. The average age of the company's owned aircraft fleet was 7.8 years.

The average remaining contracted lease term was 7.1 years.

The company has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.27 per share with a payment date of December 4. It also recently introduced a new $750m share repurchase programme.
