Ben & Jerry's co-founder Jerry Greenfield has quit the ice cream maker after almost 50 years at the firm, claiming the brand has lost its independence after owner Unilever halted its social activism.

Ben & Jerry's co-founder Jerry Greenfield has quit the ice cream maker after almost 50 years at the firm, claiming the brand has lost its independence after owner Unilever halted its social activism.

In a letter shared on X by his co-founder Ben Cohen, Mr Greenfield said he could "no longer in good conscience, and after 47 years, remain an employee of Ben & Jerry's".
