Elbow Lane restaurant to reopen 'as soon as possible' following fire
The Elbow Lane restaurant forms part of the Market Lane Restaurant Group, which also includes Market Lane, goldie, ORSO and The Blackrock Castle Cafe.
The operators of the Elbow Lane restaurant on Cork's Oliver Plunkett Street said they plan to reopen as quickly as possible following a fire at the premises yesterday.
No injuries were caused by the fire, which caused external damage to a chimney and ducting. However, the restaurant and the adjacent Market Lane restaurant were both evacuated.
A spokesperson for the restaurant said the Market Lane would open as normal at noon today, and the Elbow Lane would reopen as soon as possible.
In an update on their social media, the restaurant thanked Cork City Fire Brigade and staff and customers for their quick cooperation. "Hopefully, we will be back in action very soon."
The Elbow Lane is part of the Market Lane Restaurant Group, which also includes Market Lane, goldie, ORSO and The Blackrock Castle Cafe. It has won a slew of awards since opening in 2014 including Best Casual Dining Munster, Best Employer in the Food & Drink industry and Best Restaurant Manager.
