Insurance giant Gallagher doubles Irish presence with acquisition of AssuredPartners
The acquisition brings a further 300 employees into Gallagher in Ireland, taking the team to nearly 600 risk professionals nationwide
Insurance giant Gallagher will double its presence in Ireland to become one of the largest brokers in the country, with the multinational acquiring competitor AssuredPartners.
The global transaction, valued at $13.45bn, is the largest insurance broking acquisition ever completed.
The acquisition brings a further 300 employees into Gallagher in Ireland, taking the team to nearly 600 risk professionals nationwide. Gallagher’s existing offices in Dublin, Wexford, Kerry, Kilkenny and Limerick will now be joined by new regional offices in Cork, Clare, Louth, Monaghan, Meath and Cavan.
AssuredPartners has a significant presence in Ireland through Gallivan Murphy Insurance Brokers (GMIB), O'Callaghan Insurances and CFM Group, which operate a portfolio of well-known brands including Cosmetic Insure, Quoteee.ie, Insuremyvan.ie, Insuremyhouse.ie, Coverinaclick.ie, Insuremycars.ie, Missquote.ie, Insuremyshop.ie, Insuremytaxi.ie, Insuremyholiday.ie and Lifebroker.ie.
Gallagher already owns First Ireland, a provider of personal lines products, and has expanded in Ireland through the acquisitions of INNOVU, Doyle Mahon Insurances and Keaney Insurance Brokers in recent years, all of which now trade under the Gallagher brand.
