Cork's Blackpool will welcome a new addition next week as Jysk opens its doors.

Creating approximately 10 jobs, the Danish retailer will be located at Blackpool Retail Park (T23 RYN3), bringing the total number of Jysk stores in the Rebel County to four and joining the existing stores in Youghal, Ballincollig, and Eastgate.

At the opening, on Thursday, April 24, shoppers will get to stock up on ideas and goods for spaces indoors and out, with the latest trends on show embracing warm tones and bohemian vibes.

Expect stylish Scandinavian-inspired furniture, decor, and more, and enjoy exclusive opening-day offers with up to 70% off across all categories all week until April 30 (in-store only).

The Danish retailer opened its first Irish store in Naas in 20219 and next week’s opening brings the total number of stores across Ireland to 26, with locations from Letterkenny to Thurles.

Jysk (pronounced Yoosk) offers an extensive range of products for the home, from the bedroom to the garden.

Rooted in free-spirited, bohemian living and enriched with natural textures and organic elements, the Danish retailer’s latest trend forecast introduces two distinct style stories: Nomade and Drylands.

The Nomade trend celebrates connection, tradition, and creativity, according to Rikke Blæsild, range and design manager, Jysk. “With Nomade, decorating becomes more than aesthetic — it’s a soulful expression of wanderlust and storytelling.

"The Nomade trend blends familiar, warm hues in fresh and unexpected ways by introducing variations in tone — particularly highlighting rich petrol and soft rose shades, which creates depth and dimension. A grounding base of warm neutrals provides balance, acting as the 'soil' from which the colour story grows."

Blending simplicity with texture, warmth, and a touch of luxury, the Drylands trend is inspired by sunny days and natural textures. “Celebrating fluidity and serenity, Drylands features clean lines and celebrates open spaces, and contemporary designs,” says Rikke. “Seasonal colours add freshness to the palette, making this trend a perfect reminder to embrace nature’s beauty and the peaceful rhythm of summer.” See Jysk.
