Workers at Bord na Móna Recycling have voted overwhelmingly for strike action amid fears surrounding the planned sale of the company to KWD. 

Workers at State-controlled domestic waste collection service Bord na Móna Recycling have voted overwhelmingly for strike action amid fears surrounding the planned sale of the company to KWD. 

Bord na Móna Recycling is the country’s last publicly owned domestic waste collection service, and last month Bord na Móna agreed to a sale to KWD, subject to approval.  Union members have raised fears over their future conditions in any potential sale. The ballot for strike action was carried overwhelmingly by 95% to 5%.  The ballot was conducted in Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Limerick, Louth, Offaly, Meath, Tipperary, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
