Residents of Sherkin Island off the coast of West Cork can now place orders for fibre broadband.

The company behind the rollout of the National Broadband Plan has announced residents of Sherkin Island and Cape Clear Island off the coast of Cork can now place their orders for fibre broadband.

National Broadband Ireland (NBI) said 280 premises across both islands could now access its network.
