Arachas acquires Cavan broker John Brady

It follows a series of acquisitions in the past four years

Insurer Arachas has begun 2025 with a fresh acquisition after completing a deal for Cavan broker John Brady Insurance.

Founded in 1955, the family-owned brokerage primarily serves the local market and the surrounding area and is run by Ciaran Brady providing personal and commercial products. 

It specialises in commercial insurance products for SMEs and the agricultural sector including farm insurance, property insurance, vehicle insurance, home insurance and liability insurance.

Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Arachas has been seeking to bolster its presence in the border and midland region. 

The Cork firm acquired Gilmartin Insurance in Leitrim last year along with McDonald Dwyer Reddy & Byrne Insurances Limited in Waterford and Gerry O’Mahony Insurance in Limerick.

Following the acquisition, Ciaran Brady and staff will transition into the Arachas business.
