Alcoholic beverages and tobacco saw the largest annual increase in prices, rising by almost 5% since October last year

Irish inflation ticked up slightly last month with hikes in alcohol, tobacco and hospitality leading to a 0.7% rise in annual price levels.

New figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) on Thursday found that last month's increase was the same level of inflation recorded in September.
