Ryanair fares to fall this Christmas, but Dublin Airport an 'outlier'

The airline posted an 18% drop in profit following cost increases and fare reductions designed to stimulate demand.

Budget airline Ryanair has said it expects fares across its network to be lower over the coming Christmas period as it continues to stimulate demand, with Dublin Airport potentially being an outlier, with the passenger cap pushing prices up.

This comes following the release of the airline's results for the first half of its financial year, which showed the company generated revenue of close to €8.7bn, up 1% from last year. However, its profit after tax dropped 18% to €1.79bn following an increase in costs.
