Aer Lingus said it is assessing the implications of the dispute in the context of the current competitive environment and the passenger cap at Dublin Airport.

Aer Lingus has put a €55m cost on the industrial action carried out by pilots during their dispute this summer over pay increases.

In a trading update where the airline reported an operating profit of €92m in the second quarter, Aer Lingus said the industrial action will have a direct financial cost to the business over the second and third quarters including the impact on forward bookings.
