The report found that graduate inflow into the sector is likely to fall short of recruitment needs by 3,000 people annually, 'if nothing changes.'

An excess of 21,000 additional jobs could be created in the biopharma sector by 2027, despite record-low unemployment levels, according to forecasts by a government advisory group.

However, the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs (EGFSN) also said employment momentum may be hit by a chronic skills shortage and further investment in education and training bodies may be required.
