Watchdog calls for changes to conveyance system to end 'monopoly' 

Chair of the CCPC Brian McHugh said without Government action to create a new conveyance profession outside of solicitors. 

The competition authority has called for an end to solicitors’ “monopoly” on conveyancing services after a new report from the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA) proposed changes to the current system.

Conveyancing is the process of transferring ownership of an immovable property, such as a home, from one person to another.
