Registrations of new electric cars slide over 15% 

SIMI director general Sam Cooke said the slowdown in electric car adoption is 'not unique' to Ireland. 

New car registrations jumped 25% last month compared to the same month last year but the uptake in electric cars has begun to slow, new data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) shows.

Through the entire month, 16,455 new cars were registered compared to 13,122 last year.
