Irish pharma group APC & VLE Therapeutics to create 300 jobs following €100m expansion

Irish multinational pharmaceutical group APC & VLE Therapeutics have announced a €100m expansion to its facilities in Dublin which is expected to add 300 new jobs.
The investment will go towards a new 130,000 sq ft “Medicine Accelerator Campus” at its current location in Cherrywood. The new 300 jobs will be in research and development.
The company said that this new accelerator will integrate the latest developments in scientific research, AI, neural networks and scientifically led manufacturing activities.
Mark Barrett, chief executive of APC & VLE Therapeutics, said this announcement “solidifies our confidence in the biopharma ecosystem in Ireland as a global hub”.
“This new expansion will further strengthen our competitiveness through increased integration of the latest developments in sustainability, artificial intelligence, and breakthrough science,” he said.
The expansion is supported by Enterprise Ireland.
Enterprise Minister Simon Coveney congratulated the company on the announcement saying it demonstrates the “capacity of Irish-owned businesses to become world leaders in their field”.

VLE Therapeutics was established as APC’s sister company in 2021 and it is focused on the manufacture of advanced biotherapeutics and vaccines The group, which is fully Irish owned, and is one of the largest employers of research and development scientists in the pharmaceutical sector in Ireland.
The company is currently working on over 35 medicines in areas such as oncology, respiratory disease, Alzheimer’s, and HIV among others.
