Takumi acquires Limerick Lasers for an undisclosed sum

Laser business will relocate from Eastlink Business Park and all manufacturing will operate from Takumi’s site in Raheen Business Park, Limerick

Manufacturing firm Takumi Precision Engineering has confirmed the acquisition of Limerick Lasers as it aims to strengthen its position in the high-tech manufacturing industry.

Limerick Lasers was established in 1996 and specialises in laser-engraved metal and acrylic nameplates and tags for use in the food, chemical, medical, pharmaceutical, and electrical engineering industries.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed and the laser business will relocate from its premises in Eastlink Business Park and all manufacturing will operate from Takumi’s site in Raheen Business Park, Limerick.

Takumi has operated since 1998 and employs 130 people. 

It supplies precision machined components for a variety of industries including medical device, aerospace, pharmaceutical, and semiconductors. 

It exports globally.

Takumi CEO Donal Galligan said the acquisition is a testament to the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in precision engineering.
