Irish Mirror parent company Reach plans to cut 450 jobs across the group
Séamus Dooley, NUJ Irish Secretary with other members of the NUJ previously joined in solidarity with striking workers across Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales employed by Reach.
British news group Reach said it planned to cut 450 full-time jobs as part of another round of cost-cutting next year, designed to tackle the impact of high inflation that has hammered the Daily Mirror parent company.
Reach, which counts national titles as well as regional publication in Ireland including the Irish Mirror and Cork Beo among its brands, said that it would need to reduce operating costs by 5-6% again in 2024.
