Anglo Irish Bank's former CEO David Drumm was the “captain of the ship heading into a storm” in September 2008, and did what he had to to get through it, his lawyers have told a jury.

On day 78 of Mr Drumm's conspiracy to defraud trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Brendan Grehan SC told the jury that his client never set out to commit any kind of fraud.
