Ryanair confirmed as world's busiest airline

Ryanair carried 79.6 million passengers last year, making it the busiest airline in the world.

The International Air Travel Association has published figures for airline transport which show that Ryanair beat the second busiest airline, Lufthansa, by 29 million passengers.

British airline Easyjet rounded out the top three and last year carried 44.6 million international passengers.

Ryanair expects to carry more than 81.5m passengers in 2013.
