Govt asked to call EGM of Aer Lingus shareholders
The Government is being asked to call an extraordinary general meeting of Aer Lingus shareholders to reverse the airline's decision to withdraw its Shannon-Heathrow service.
Around 300 people representing business, tourism, and other groups gathered in Shannon this afternoon to express their opposition to the move.
The meeting was organised by Shannon Development and this afternoon its chairman made calls for the Government to issue a statement in support of the West of Ireland and to recall the Dáil as a matter of urgency.
