House price increases have slowed considerably in recent months, according to figures released today by Permanent-TSB.

The financial institution said its latest house price index showed that prices had increased by just 0.3% in November, the same rate as the previous month.

This compares to 0.9% increases in June and July, a 1.1% increase in August and a 1% increase in September.

Permanent-TSB said house prices rose by 8.4% in the first 11 months of this year, compared to 12.2% in the same period last year.

It said the average price of a house last month was just under €254,000. The average price of a house in Dublin was put at almost €303,500, compared to around €220,750 outside the capital.
