Discount UK retailer Brown & Jackson today said it had cut its losses by 41%, but warned that Christmas trading would be crucial to its revival.

The Leeds-based group, which owns the Poundstretcher chain, said operating losses “significantly improved” to £2.7m (€3.9m) in the 26 weeks to August 28 from £4.6m (€6.7m) beforehand.
