Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho saw reasons to be optimistic after dropping striker Diego Costa for Sunday’s goalless draw at Tottenham – even if the striker did aim a bib in his direction.

The Portuguese downplayed any suggestion of a falling-out with Costa, who was an unused substitute as the Barclays Premier League champions’ bid for a second away win of the season remained elusive.
