Boxer Scott Harrison arrested

WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison’s title defence against Gairy St Claire next Saturday could be in doubt after the fighter was arrested following a nightclub incident.

Harrison, who is due to take on St Clair in Belfast, was questioned after police were called to the premises in Balloch, Dumbartonshire in the UK.

The Scotsman hit the headlines last month when he was bailed on charges of breach of the peace, refusing to leave a licensed premises, resisting arrest and police assault.

Harrison faces trial in September but now this latest incident could further damage his career.

A spokesperson for Strathclyde police said: “At around 1.45am on Sunday morning, a 28-year-old man was arrested and will be subject to a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
