Swedish daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter is seeing a huge surge in its online subscriptions, with online traffic is jumping 100% to 125% daily, and video traffic up 400%.

Martin Jonsson, head of editorial development at daily Stockholm newspaper ‘Dagens Nyheter’, which has grown its online subscriber numbers to 460,000 in recent months, between paid and unpaid customers.

Digital subscriber numbers are soaring at Swedish daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter, where readers have been steadily migrating to online in recent years.

In the few months since the outbreak of Covid-19, around 150,000 people have signed up as free subscribers to access DN’s entire online content until the end of May, joining the near 310,000 existing paying subscribers availing of DN’s comprehensive content, the bulk of which is kept behind a paywall.
