Patrick Stewart reads Shakespeare in social media

In times of crisis, Shakespeare can offer comfort. Especially when his sonnets are recited by Capt Picard.

London (dpa) - British actor Patrick Stewart ("Star Trek: Picard") has thrilled his fans in social media with a poem by William Shakespeare and now wants to recite a sonnet by the poet every day.

The 79-year-old, who began his career as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, first published a nearly two-minute video on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook on Saturday. In it, he speaks in a calm voice directly into the camera and recites Shakespeare's 116th sonnet.
