Pokemon Go comes to smartphones
That's because the mobile game will use your actual location information to show you Pokemon in the real world and gives you the chance to capture them as best you can while also interacting with other users and - of course - taking part in battles. Here's the first trailer.
It sounds like a really cool idea, though we're expecting it won't look quite this amazing in real-life. That said, the developers Niantic Labs have form with creating games which mix in elements of reality, thanks to their work on the ridiculously engaging Ingress.
So if you find a bunch of people cheering in the streets for no apparent reason, it could well be to do with Pokemon Go. Or a variety of other things, including insanity. And it turns out there will be a physical Pokemon Go Plus device which you can keep in your pocket to notify you of important events - you'll be able to buy that from Nintendo.
