Campaigners try to block development at Hollywood sign site

Campaigners are fighting to protect the iconic Hollywood sign.

Today is the deadline for a conservation group to raise more than €9m to buy the land around it.

A developer wants to build luxury homes right behind the giant letters, which have been a landmark since 1923.
