Nama considering judgement that makes it a subject to FOI
Nama said it is studying yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling, which saw it lose its five-year legal battle to prevent information about its functions being made available to members of the public.
The Supreme Court yesterday unanimously rejected arguments from the agency, which claimed that it is not a public authority subject to freedom of environmental information requests.
It means members of the public and media are entitled to ask for information.
While Nama is now subject to freedom of information, it is not clear how forthcoming the body will be to requests.
Recent years have seen high-profile public bodies issue heavily redacted docments to journalists making requests.
