'Grey's Anatomy' star suing pharmacy for $6m
Emmy-winning actress Katherine Heigl is suing pharmacy chain Duane Reade, saying the company is using a picture of her leaving one of its outlets in its promotional materials.
Heigl, 35, who was in the TV series Grey’s Anatomy and films including 'Knocked Up' and '27 Dresses' is seeking at least $6m in damages.
A Duane Reade spokesman did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan, said Heigl was recently photographed by paparazzi in New York City as she left a Duane Reade pharmacy.
It said the company was exploiting the actress’ image for commercial gain, despite her objection.
The complaint says Heigl plans to donate any lawsuit proceeds to an animal charity.
Hi @DuaneReade - unlike @KatieHeigl , I am very happy to be photographed coming out of your excellent stores. And feel free to tweet it.
