Clare click into gear as Tipperary flounder
From midway through the first half, a livelier Clare side were always in control as they eased to their second title against a Tipperary side that performed poorly after a bright start.
“We were the better team tonight but I’m not fooled,” said Clare boss Davy Fitzgerald. “We meet Tipp in the league and we know what the story will be then. I’m not reading anything into this whatsoever. You know there is a lot more in Tippeary and I would have a lot more respect for them than that. I know they will be different when we meet later on in the year and maybe they just needed just a small little bit of a kick in the pants.”
