USA: A man is facing charges after a stripper was paid with a counterfeit $100 note following a lap dance.

Stephen Gidcumb was arrested after returning to the strip club in Kochville Township, near Saginaw, Michigan, later the same day. Prosecutors said club workers were “on the lookout” for the 32-year-old.

Gidcumb is charged with intentionally passing counterfeit notes, said by police to be mixed in with real $100 notes. Other fake notes were found at his home. Prosecutors said they were made on a computer.

Kangoo kangaroo

ENGLAND:

An AA mechanic called out to repair a broken-down Renault Kangoo was left shocked after finding a baby kangaroo on the passenger seat.

Andy Jones feared he was the victim of a wind-up when AA member Zachary Hollinshead, a zoo director, told him a pouch in his vehicle contained a marsupial.

Mr Jones came across the unusual cargo after being called out to the village of Pattingham in Staffordshire to help a driver whose ignition key would not turn.

A man in Atlanta has spent the night in jail for dressing like a Star Wars stormtrooper.

The charges: Wearing a mask and reckless conduct. WMAZ-TV reports that Justin Marling’s full armor and plastic gun created concern as he walked down a road in Newborn, population 700.

The Jasper County sheriff’s report says deputies thought Marling’s weapon could be real.

Marling says he was working for a charitable cause, Star Wars Force for Change, which aims to inspire people to have a positive impact.

Purrfect crime

SPAIN:

A man accused of lying during an emergency call to get authorities to his house quickly faces a fine of up to €600,000.

A police official in Catalayud confirmed Spanish media reports that the man said his two daughters were locked inside a car. Actually, the official says that the man’s two cats were locked inside his house.

The Heraldo de Aragon newspaper said a complaint was filed against the man after he admitted inventing the story for a quicker response time.

False calls leading to emergency services deployment in Aragon region carry fines of €150,000-€600,000.

Making light of things

USA:

Three mayors walk into an lift — but what happened next was no joke, though the officials managed to amuse themselves until they could be rescued about 40 minutes later.

Pittsburgh mayor Bill Peduto got stuck in the Westin Hotel elevator along with the mayors of Pennsylvania towns Millvale and Leetsdale. They had been at a meeting of the Allegheny League of Municipalities.

Luckily, one of the passengers worked at the hotel and summoned maintenance using a walkie-talkie.

High spirits

USA:

Carrie Sapp teased her husband, Brad, about being afraid of ghosts when he said he heard someone whisper “get out of here” while he was sorting cans at his Iowa recycling business. However, it wasn’t a ghost. It was a naked man in the chimney.

Sapp said she was working the next morning at the Carroll Redemption Center when she heard a man yell for help from the chimney.

She told the Daily Times Herald that Jordan Kajewski explained: “I was playing hide-and-seek with my cousin. Don’t call the cops!”

Firefighters initially planned to use a rope to pull Jordan Kajewski from the chimney, but eventually opted to hammer a hole in it and pulled him out.

Though naked, the 29-year-old had his clothes with him. He was charged with trespassing.
