Mudslides on highway claim at least 28 lives in Guatemala

TORRENTIAL rains from a tropical depression caused mudslides that have killed at least 28 people in Guatemala.
The first highway slide on Saturday partially buried a bus under tons of mud on a highway leading northwest of the capital toward Mexico.
Officials said at least 18 people died.
But hours later, vehicles were trapped by another slide and some of the rescuers were themselves caught in further slides.
The president told officials to close the highway for fear of more mudslides.
