There’s one groom who was guaranteed not to have cold feet on his big day - because a nearby brush fire kept them warm.

Holy Smokes! Dramatic pictures emerge of wedding surrounded by wildfire

Emergency services arrived to evacuate a wedding in the US just as Josh Newton was photographing the bride walking down the aisle as smoke from a growing wildfire six miles away was threatening to halt proceedings.

"Right as the bride was about to walk down, a firetruck came in sirens blaring and told the bride we had to evacuate. In tears, her father announced to all the guests that we had to move the wedding."

After taking stock of the situation the fire fighters realised what was going on and let April, Michael and their guests carry on in a nearby location.

"Incredibly, the fireman then told us we could have the ceremony and then had to leave.

"I've never seen anything like what happened next. Everyone moved the entire wedding to a park in Bend, all with smiles and good attitudes.

The rushed wedding was, to Josh, a beautiful exhibition of love.

"It showed everyone at the wedding what really mattered - the people and the couple. The location change didn't affect the wedding at all, it was the most beautiful day. In planning my own wedding, it was an incredible reminder to really value and cherish the most important things in life.

"This couple had the most positive attitude and it definitely affected me for the better. They served everyone at their wedding amazingly, and I am so thankful to know them and have had the chance to photograph them."

While the guests, caterers, and DJ all moved to Drake Park and setup, we snuck away and got some of the most incredible wedding photos I've ever taken. This is just with my phone."

Josh shared the image with the 6,000 fans of his Facebook page, who began sharing it among their friends. The iPhone photo spread like wildfire (pardon the pun) and received over 90,000 likes. Josh was amazed by the response to the image.

"I am so thankful for everyone that posted, shared, and commented on my page and photos. Truly you all made one photographer so incredibly happy."

"Thank you to all the firefighters, policemen, and the forest service for protecting us from the beautiful yet crazy elements of mother nature."
