Billion dollar Russian wedding of energy tycoon Mikhail Gutseriev’s son Said

Jennifer Lopez, Sting, and Enrique Iglesias have performed at the lavish $1 billion (€884m) wedding of Russian energy tycoon Mikhail Gutseriev’s son Said in Moscow.

Russia’s state news agency Sputnik reported that the bride’s dress alone cost an estimated €330,000 and was decorated with precious stones that weighed about 25kg.

It was reportedly imported from Paris and weighed so much because of the massive train and beadwork.

It all meant the bride needed help to walk up stairs on her big day.

Bride Khadija Uzhakhovs had a matching handbag, diamond tiara, and diamond pendant around her neck.

She was also pictured in a change of outfit, as she posed with guests in an embellished satin dress with delicate mesh sleeves.

Mikhail Gutseriev amassed a fortune with oil, coal, and banking businesses. Last year, Forbes magazine ranked him as the 38th richest person in Russia.

The Gutseriev family has ethnic roots in the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia. The 20-year-old bride is also of Ingush heritage and studies dentistry in Moscow, Sputnik said.

The groom, Said Gutseriev, reportedly works at the oil company RussNeft, where his father is chairman of the board of directors.

According to ContactMusic, Lopez made at least three costume changes during her performance, which included some of biggest hits including ‘On the Floor’, ‘Dance Again’, and ‘Get Right’.

Lopez — who was reported to have been paid $1million for her show — told guests that pronouncing the newlyweds’ names was ‘the hardest thing I had to do today’. The wedding was held at the luxury Moscow restaurant and banqueting venue Safisa.
